Registration
For a limited time, the American Classic Cheviot Sheep Association will be conducting an open registration. It is our goal to locate and register sheep that conform to the standards laid forth by this organization in order to preserve the Classic Cheviot Sheep.
In order to qualify sheep during the open registration as foundation stock, we will require front and side photos of the sheep. One photo must clearly show the profile of the head. If you need more than two photos to represent your sheep, please do so. We prefer digital photos, but will accept photos by post. These photos will be retained by the registry, but will not be used for advertising purposes without approval.. We also ask that you include any pedigree information that you have on your sheep. We will record registration numbers from other registries to help us to locate sheep meeting the ACCSA standard.
Photographs are not required for sheep that are the product of registered stock.
During the open registration period, there will be no charge to register sheep born prior to 01 Jan 2011. There will be a $7.50 registration fee for lambs born during 2011. These registration fees will increase in the future, so we encourage members to register their sheep as soon as possible. Transfer fees for ewes and rams will be $7.50. Registration and transfers of wethers will be done free of charge. We encourage breeders to complete and mail the transfer paperwork as part of the purchase process to ensure that the sheep remain properly registered.
Membership
The efforts of American Classic Cheviot Sheep Association are supported by registration and membership fees. It is our goal to promote this breed through advertising and education. For 2011, membership fees will be $20 and will include advertising space on the ACCSA web page.
